Born in the coastal town of Cahuita, Limón, Mahyla Roth now carries the national crown and the hopes of Costa Rica on the international stage. At 26, she was crowned on 19 July 2025 at CIC ANDE, becoming the country’s delegate to Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand.
But the crown is only part of her story. Her journey has been one of renewal, health-recovery and advocacy for mental wellness. “I stopped obsessing over food and began to truly nourish my body,” she shared.
She also honours her heritage and faith. After being crowned she fulfilled a promise by visiting the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels in Cartago, placing her crown before the Virgin and giving thanks.
As the first delegate from Limón province under the new franchising system, Mahyla is also a symbol of regional pride and transformation. Her smile, authenticity and mission-driven mindset set her apart.
As she prepares for the global stage in November, all of Costa Rica watches. And for Limón, the message is clear: the best of the province is in its people.
